45km far from Ninh Binh City and deep inside Tam Diep Mountain range, Cuc Phuong National Park was founded in 1962 and located in three provinces including Ninh Binh Province, Hoa Binh Province and Thanh Hoa Province with total area of 22,408ha. Having its quintessence of tropical rainforest, Cuc Phuong National Park possesses 2,234 vascular plants, 122 reptile species, 2,000 insect species, 336 bird species and natural values in terms of scenic scenery, ecological diversity and cultural and historical values. Therefore, this place has been a renowned and charming ecotourism site. There are various activities including walking or biking in the unspoiled forest; watching wild animals at midnight; observing reptiles, amphibians and insects; discovering local ethnic community; visiting the Endangered Primate Rescue Center and the first Carnivore and Pangolin Conservation education center in Vietnam, etc. The length of tours may be from several hours to 2-3 days, depending on season.
