Van Long Wetland Nature Reserve belongs to 7 communes of Gia Vien District, 7km far from Ninh Binh City to the North. Covering an area of above 3,000ha, Van Long is the largest wetland nature reserve in the Northern Delta. This place was recognized by Vietnam Record Book Center with two records including “Place with the biggest number of Trachypithecus delacouri” and place with “The largest natural picture made by stone” Van Long Lagoon looks like an ink painting picture with karst mountains reflecting their images on blue and cool water surface. Inside those karst mountains lying 32 caves with quintessential beauty such as Ca Cave, Bong Cave, Rua Cave, Chanh Cave, Thung Doi Cave, etc. Along with stunning scenery, besides Van Long Wetland Nature Reserve, tourists can visit a number of cultural and historical relics such as Dich Long Pagoda and Cave, Hoa Lu Cave, Thung Lau Temple, King Dinh Tien Hoang Temple, etc.
